If the system's sensors detect a potential collision with a car or pedestrian in front of you, a warning flashes and an audible alert sounds.* Also, the brakes will precharge and increase brake-assist sensitivity to provide full responsiveness when you do brake. If you do not take corrective action and a collision is imminent, the brakes can automatically apply.
A camera mounted behind the windshield scans road lane markings to determine vehicle position and detect a lane departure. This available feature* can operate during the day or night. Lane-Keeping Alert warns you through a series of steering wheel vibrations, which mimic a rumble strip, should the system detect an unintentional lane departure.12
Available Auto High-Beam Headlamps can sense poor lighting conditions and switch on to light your path ahead. They can even sense oncoming headlights and dim automatically, so you don't have to worry about blinding other drivers. They can help you keep your focus on the road - and both hands on the wheel.
BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert uses radar to identify if a vehicle is detected in your blind spot and alerts you with an indicator light in the appropriate exterior mirror. Cross-Traffic Alert also uses radar to watch for traffic behind you as you're slowly backing out of a parking spot or driveway. If cross-traffic sensors detect a vehicle, you will be audibly and visually alerted.
The Rear View Camera 3 provides a video image on the center-stack screen of the area behind your vehicle. The camera is activated when you shift into Reverse and back up slowly. The screen has guides to help you align your vehicle with a trailer or assist you with backing up in tight places.
If your vehicle is in Drive and moving slowly, forward sensors will sound a high-pitched beeping tone if something is there in front of you. The beeps will become more rapid as you approach an object, and within 10 inches they become a solid tone. The sensors turn off when you put your vehicle in Park or Neutral. The Reverse Sensing System works the same way using sensors in the rear bumper.

The side-curtain airbags deploy downward and outward toward the side-window opening to protect the heads of front passengers. Roll-fold technology helps the airbag slide between the glass and occupant as the airbag inflates. The airbags will not interfere with properly installed child-safety seats or booster seats and are designed to stay inflated longer for added protection in a rollover.*
